Grandma JoAnn
Grandma Jo is Doug's mom and she turned 73 yesterday.We are taking her out for supper tonight at the local steakhouse. She is a resident at the nursing home and she really enjoys a meal that not hospital food. Hannah made her a birthday card and she is really excited about taking it to her. Yesterday they had a birthday party for her at the nursing home and Selma (Doug's sil) made her a cake, thanks Selma.
Taking the heifers to fresh pasture.
Oats

Here is Hannah and Doug measuring the oats.We got a good crop this year and Doug has been busy hauling all the hay we got this summer.What a little rain won't do, I think Doug thought that I didn't believed him that it
actually does rain out here. Seven years later it did rain and it meant it. It was a beautiful year, green most of the summer, and cool till August. Life is good.

He was just a little boy,
On a week's first day.
Wandering home from Bible school,
And dawdling on the way.
He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a catapillar.
He found a fluffly milkweed pod,
And blew out all the 'filler.'
A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.
A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day
And what was going on.
'I've been to Bible School,'
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
'I've learned a lot about God.'
'M'm very fine way,' the neighbor said,
'for a boy to spend his time.'
'If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give give a brand new dime.'
Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
'I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain't.'
