It's winter time in South Dakota And the gentle breezes blow Seventy miles an hour At twenty-five below Oh, how I love South Dakota When the snow's up to your butt You take a breath of winter And your nose gets frozen shut Yes, the weather here is wonderful So I guess I'll hang around I could never leave South Dakota 'Cause I'm frozen to the ground
I am a ranch wife, married to Dh for 7 years and mother of three, Dd (18), Ds (15) and Dd (4). Dh and I raise registered hereford cattle and live on a ranch in western South Dakota. I work part-time at local livestock auction barn, and I also am the secretary at church.
This is Kagan and Dallie, my brother's kids. Kagan is 5 and Dallie is 3. Look like little sweetpeas, don't they. We will be going to Mom and Dad's for Christmas and will get to see my brother's family then.
He was just a little boy, On a week's first day. Wandering home from Bible school, And dawdling on the way. He scuffed his shoes into the grass; He even found a catapillar. He found a fluffly milkweed pod, And blew out all the 'filler.' A bird's nest in a tree overhead, So wisely placed up so high. Was just another wonder, That caught his eager eye. A neighbor watched his zig zag course, And hailed him from the lawn; Asked him where he'd been that day And what was going on. 'I've been to Bible School,' He said and turned a piece of sod. He picked up a wiggly worm replying, 'I've learned a lot about God.' 'M'm very fine way,' the neighbor said, 'for a boy to spend his time.' 'If you'll tell me where God is, I'll give give a brand new dime.' Quick as a flash the answer came! Nor were his accents faint. 'I'll give you a dollar, Mister, If you can tell me where God ain't.'
